The "Walled Obelisk" was built in the 10 century and was originally covered with bronze plaques. This is at one end of teh Hippodrome.

The Obelisk of Thutmose III was brought from Egypt in 390 AD. It was already ancient because it was first put up at around 1490 CE at Luxor. This is only the top part of the original obelisk.
