We went to the Atocha train station for a trip to Toledo--30 minutes each way.

The station was busy, mostly with commuters.

The Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo (Catedral Primada Santa María de Toledo). The main entrance is hardly used.

The Cathedral was started in 1226. There was a Visigoth church and a mosque and a Christian church on this same site.

I could not tell how much of these walls was original and how much was repaired.

In the early morning, when we got there, it was mostly local people on the street.

If you look carefully, each face has an expression.

How did the builders work so far up? The tower is slightly more than 300 feet tall.

Much of the style is Gothic. The Cathedral was finished--more or less--in 1493.

There is good light in much of the interior. Some of the windows were added after the initial construction.

I really liked this composition.

There is a lot of stained glass.

I doubt this clock keeps accurate time any longer.
