On one of the terraces, we spotted this goat.

There are sea caves, too. Note the color of the water.

Our pilot was skilled enough to take us into the mouth of one of the sea caves.

This may give you some idea of just how high some of the cliffs are.

We saw several waterfalls.

I would not like to try climbing to the top.

It looks to be almost straight up.

There are electronic observation stations on top of the cliffs at this point. One thing they are used for is observations of activity on the missle test range.

On the way back we stopped to watch the sun set in the west.

The lighting and clouds set up some great pictures.

And now it is gone. No green flash, though.

On Monday, we drove north from Kapa`a. Our first stop was at Kiluaea Point. Unfortuneately, we we unable to walk down to the lighthouse.

Here is another view of the lighthouse. Many of the white specks you see in the pictures are birds.

The shoreline is rugged.

Seabirds nest along the coast.

They fill the trees and have nests on the cliffs.
