Padua: The outside of Cappella degli Scrovengi belies the 700 year-old simplicity and the wonderful Giotto frescos inside. You have to enter from the back, and spend 15 minutes being decontaminated before getting into the actual chapel.

Padua: We were not allowed to take pictures in the chapel and we were only admitted for about 25 minutes. The frescos (1303-1305) were wonderfully restored and as beautiful as any I have ever seen.
