On our way to visit Kate and Jeff and Abby in mid April, we took a detour to the Grand Canyon. Steven had never been there. WE arrived early in the morning and were able to watch the light unveil the landscape.

There were signs like this all over. One would think that the size of the hole in the ground would be warning enough.

This whole place falls into the category of 'Are you kidding me?'

As the light changes it reveals and hides features.

Way, way down there is the Colorado River. I find it difficult to believe that that river carved out the canyon.

Even the squirrels take time to look at the scenary.

There was still some snow on the south side.

The camera was fast enough to catch this crow in flight with some detail. Zoom in to see.
