Morning light on New Year's Day created colorful shapes.

What looks like smoke is actually a cloud. We see this from time to time.

The evening light shows the contours of the foothills. In the left third of the picture, Santa Fe Baldy can be seen.

Santa Fe Ski's lift towers can be seen at the top as can the main ski runs. This is the middle of January, and there is hardly any snow.

We had to move the shape every day or so because the angle of the morning light changes.

At last! A little bit of new snow near the end of January.

Late afternoon light

4 days after the snowfall, most of the snow is gone.

The January full moon was on the 27th.

It was cold for several days and the wind shaped the icicles.

The day after the ful moon I captured some grasses in silhouette.

The more of the grasses I got, the less detail I captured of the moon's surface.

Early February evening sky. Our house is on the right.

One of the very few snow accumulations of the winter happened on 02/17.

This juvenile Cooper's hawk stood, motionless, on our front steps for quite a while.

This dove was largely hidden in one of the piñon trees in our back yard. The challenge was to get a picture through the branches and needles without scaring the bird.

The March full moon occurred on the 27th. There was too much light in the sky even around 7pm to get a good picture of the moon near the horizon.

The day after the March full moon the clear skies let me get more detail.
