On October 1st, we visited the Albuquerque Museum for the premiere of a film about the National Institute of Flamenco which celebrated its founding and founders. [I am on the board of NIF.]
Just by luck, the location where we stayed in ABQ was close to the place where the Albuquerque Balloon Festival was being held. WE spane a Saturday morning watching hot air balloons pass over and land near us. As you can see, we were able to get pretty close.
Sometimes, the sky was full of balloons.
I think every balloon in this picture is from the Rainbow Ryders company. They give ballon tours/rides year round.
Every fall the light in the kitchen area is just right to create great reflections of these garlic ornaments.
Early morning in October
By coincidence, I was taking a picture of the same sunrise at almost the same time while I was on a walk.
Ann and Max visited us from Arizona and we went to the Santa Fe Botanical Garden.
In addition to the plant life, the garden has sculptures along the trails.
Even in October there were still colorful flowers.

While we were at the botanical garden the sky looked as if there was a weather change in store.

We were able to arrange a tour of the Wells Petroglyph Preserve. At first, the sky was threatening.

Our docent, Sandy, was full of information.
On the way back to Santa Fe from the WPP, we made a stop at the Santuario de Chimayo.

In late October we drove to Madrid (the one close to us, not the one in Spain) for a meal and to see the fall colors.
