There is a small river in back of me and an even smaller one--the Cimarron--at the base of the Palisades formation.

We also visited the Pecos Pueblo. It has been abandoned for a long time, but here you see the remnants of the church. This church was a ruin when the Santa Fe trail was being travelled.

We really like the colors of the sky and the weathered adobe. [Look at the color of the walls of our house.]

We really like the colors of the sky and the weathered adobe. [Look at the color of the walls of our house.]

The church and pueblo are on a big rise that has good visibility and would have been easy to defend.
