Heading down the path to Karpuzlu

Part of Alinda (the lowere part) was outside the fortified walls.

Remains of walls and streets can still be made out.

I wondered how old this tree was.

This is one side of the stoa (the market place). It was built into the hillsideand had storage areas on the down-slope.

As with everyplace we visited in Turkey, the Turkish flag flies proudly.

After lunch we visited Lagina and the Temple of Hecate.

Of course the columns would have been much taller. It looks odd to see the capitals down so low.

It is easy to see that this site was long-buried. I would not want to be standing under the re-erected door in an earthquake.
