La música y el baile en movimiento colorido. Auxi Fernández was very good with the mantón. We were so close that I had to move my beer when she made the mantón fly.

The guitarra, Miguel Luis Manzana, was wonderful both when he accompanied and when he soloed.

This fish, which was on display at a shop in Mercado San Miguel, attracted a lot of attention. You are looking at it head on. (the sign is for the erizo del mar on the right)

Erizo del mar, or, in English, sea urchin. Great colors, but unappetizing to me.
For the last couple of nights in Madrid, we had to leave the Airbnb so we went to the Hotel Indigo. It is at the end of the Gran Via. Near-by we discovered El Corte Inglés, which is a large department store.
Inside El Corte Inglés, we discovered the Gourmet Experience, an area made up of different shops that sell gourmet foods AND, for lack of a better term, food stalls selling all kinds of treats.
Here is our first treat at Gourmet Experience.
In addition to the food, Gourmet Experience provides a great view of Madrid. Many Madrid landmarks are outlined on the windows and protective glass.
Looking down at Plaza del Callao. The large building in the upper left is the oper house and beyond the is the royal palace.
Rooftops can be interesting.
The more modern side. Well "modern" if the 20s and 30s are your idea of modern.
This picture was taken from an outdoor area at Hotel Indigo. It is taken from the 12th or 13th floor. The mountains in the background look closer than they are.

On one of our evening walks we found the church called Nuestra Señora del Carmen y San Luis. The outside was unassuming, but the interior was very nice. It dates to 1611. The convent it was attached to was built in 1575.
There was some nice artwork in the church.
