On the way back from the Pololu Valley, I took this picture of a statue of King Kamehameha the first. He was the first king of all the islands and his birthplace was neer the Mookini heiau.

We don't know if this has a special meaning but we saw it on one edge of the sulphur vent field.

Not so long ago molten lava poured into the sea and built these cliffs which are now being battered by the sea.
