On Friday afternoon we arrived in Chinle, AZ. This is a picture of the floor Canyon de Chelly from the rim drive.

Spider Rock in the canyon. [A guide told us that "Chelly" is a Spanish corruption of the Navaho word for "canyon." Thus, Canyon Canyon.]

There are ruins everywhere you can see. A guide told us that there are about 500 sites officially identified in the canyons.

On Saturday we took a tour of the canyon floor. It was fairly cold but not windy. We saw many more pictographs this year than last year.
