On Monday, October 30, we drove from Farmington to Taos. On the way we stopped high in a mountain pass to take pictues of the Brazos cliffs. This is as close as I wish to be to snow--ever.

St. Jerome in the Pueblo of Taos. This church, built in 1850, replaces the one built in 1619 by slave labor, destroyed in 1680 during the Pueblo Revolt, rebuilt in 1692 when the Spanish returned, and destroyed in 1850 when bombarded by the Americans.

Patricia caught in mid-stride. Oh, yes, the buildings behind her have been there since 1100 (or so). The ceilings, walls, and windows have all been replaced many times, but the guide assured us that the homes were original.
