The outside of tomb would have been covered by blocks like these. The central part, unlike the tomb at Halicarnassus, is solid rock.

As you can see, there would have been a lot of columns around the tomb.

By now we knew enough to look at something like this and see what was original and what had been added for reconstruction.

I presume the carving would have been done before the arch pieces were put together which makes the alignment all that much more impressive.
