Getting the scale of the ruins right was a challenge. I hope to show just how large some of the ruins are.

The temple is locaed in what was once Ionia.

There is a person--for scale--in red at the far right edge.

The bases of the columns were, I think, larger than the columns at the Parthenon in Athens.

The temple, which housed an oracle, was built to awe visitors. It worked!

The bases of the columns were scaled to the height of a person.

One would progress from the outer area to the lower area where the oracle was housed.

The walls, we were told, were once 3 times higher.
