Very old trees in the courtyard of the Mezquita (Mosque-Cathedral) in Córdoba. It is called Courtyard of the Orange Trees because (wait for it) there are lots…
The courtyard of the Mezquita (Mosque-Cathedral) in Córdoba. The Cathedral of Our Ladyof the Assumption is the Christian name.
The belltower encloses the old minaret.
The bell tower is large enough to be used as a landmark for a long way.
An old, but working, fountain in the courtyard.
Did you notice the palm tree in front of the tower?
This statue of archangel Raphael, protector of Córdoba, is at the top of the tower.
I think this is also archangel Raphael.
Thinking about my next picture.

One must remember to look up while walking in the neighborhoods.
Green and orange were common colors. I would have to duck my head to get through these doors.
The doors, though old, looked sturdy.
Arched doorways were common, too. You may notice that not everything is is exactly square.
Interesting door. If you look closely, you will see that all of the metal is decorated.
