Kauai
Steven and Noah on a bridge near Kapa`a; We've been in Hawaii for a week and neither of us is sunburned.
Noah climbed everything he could find, including this breakwater.
We found good, but not great, shave ice in Old Koloa Town.
Noah was able to get in the water at Poipu Beach Park.
After the beach, we drove to Spouting Horn Park, where seawater is forced up through "blowholes" with a loud roar of air.
Sometimes, the foam goes way up.
Some of the spouts can be quite dramatic.
We took a boat tour along the Napali Coast. We left from Eleele on a Hoholo charter. It was Noah's frst boat trip like this.
Noah really enjoyed the wind and the ocean spray. He got to move around, with us keeping an eye on him, as much as he wanted.
You can see he is having a good time.
These are some of the "smaller" cliffs at the south end of Napali
The whole island was created by a volcanic hotspot and its volcanic nature shows in the igneous rocks.
Time and the weather have sculpted the coast. This coast is on the west side of the island.
Isn't this spectacular?
Another view of the sharp projections.
One of the crew took our picture.
La costa de Na Pali desde un barco.
these "structures" extend for several miles. Now we are on the northwest side of the island.
Water and time have carved out arches, too.
These look like terraces
