Lisbon and Sintra

Lisbon and Sintra
A beautiful day in Lisbon. From Hotel Memmo Alfama.
At Club do Fado. Music mixed with a meal.
Red light was used when performers were playing. Black and white looks better.
Club de Fado in the daylight.
A house next to our hotel.
Do you see the face. This "picture" is only a couple of years old.
Lots of tile fronts. Portugal is famous for its ceramics.
This is what Commercio plaza looked like before the 1755 earthquake.
Interesting mural.
Looking down at the Tagus river.
Museo do Fado (in pink) and new cruise ship terminal.
Church of Sáo Vicente de Fora; Monastery of St. Vincent Outside the Walls" is a 17th-century church and monastery, begun in 1582.
On our walking tour, our guide told us that some of the houses in Alfama have these tile fronts because people were trying to show their wealth.
Neglected water fountain. There used to be many of these.
Now, no one is responsible for them.
There are a lot of stairs in Alfama.
Our guide was very knowledgeable.
The river Tagus from our patio at Hotel Memmo.
