Jerez

The festival was special because Yjastros performed. We visited friends and several people we knew from New Mexico also came for the festival.
About the first thing we sow the morning after we arrived in Jerez was this little parade. It was right around the corner from our apartment..
We had a group meal at Albores (a perennial favorite) with some of the people who came to Jerez to support the Yjastros performance.
This was one of the dishes served.
The group had several walking tours of Jerez. Not everyone went on every walk. There was almost always a meal involved, too.
In all of the times we had visited Jerez previously, I had never noticed the art work on this tower at Teatro Villamarta.
Likewise, I had never noticed this art above the entrance to Sala Compañía.
Patricia and Amarita.
Getting ready for the first performance of this Festival de Jerez. It was the first time we had seen the Ballet Nacional de España.
The large cast put on an outstanding performance.
The dancing was of several types, from folklorico to ballet to flamenco.
The late night performance at Gonzalez Byass was Vicente Sordero. (cante)
Getting ready for another walk. We are very familiar with this area and walked it every day.
Decorated balcony
Plaza de la Asunción. If I remember correctly, this was at one time a jail. (cárcel)
Loose-up of a door of the former jail.
I don't know that I've ever seen an outdoor statue that wasn't used by pigeons as a lookout. The statue is of Primo de Rivera.

Monument to Lola Flores
At the other end of the calle, this is the monument to La Paquera de Jerez.
