In mid-April we visited 2 more Salinas Pueblo missions at Abó and Gran Quivira. We also visited the White Sands National Monument. We finished our trip with a 2-day exploration of Cañada Alamosa with the School for Advanced Research

Driving to the north (this is the road) we are near the end of the cañada.
From the outside of the cañada you can see that the entrance is very narrow and would be hard to find. [I suppose the water might give away the path.] We are parked and ready for our last hike of the day to Ojo Caliente.

There were two paths to the spring; one was low and the other high. I took the high road and saw people hopping the stream in several places on the low road. I came back on the low road and got wet myself.

This is the pool at Ojo Caliente. Actually, the water was just barely "warm". We saw a snake, a frog, and some chub fish in the pool.
Patricia took this picture on the way back from Ojo Caliente. We don't know what made the white outlines. As with the rest of our trips, we generate as many questions as we find answers.
