Milas
The Myndos Gate is in Bodrum. It is nearly 2,500 years old.
While part of the gate still exists, very little of the city walls remains. Note the scale of the gate.
Thise are large blocks.
The gate once led into a courtyard. The courtyard was trap. Once inside, the gate could be closed behind.
This sign says the the building is the administrative offices for the Milas museum.

Was the removal of the heads deliberate.
What kind of animal is this?
The courtyard of the Milas museum is a trove of interesting stone.
Much of what we saw was of high quality.
This was a fountain.

The museum had a wide-ranging collection. These are from the bronze age.
Note the tulip design.
This looks like a real person in repose.
Not an angel, but a winged messenger.
The sign reads "ring" but there are other pieces fo fine gold work.
