We didn’t take a big trip in 2016. We did that in part because we knew we wanted to visit Spain [again] to attend part of the Festival de Jerez which celebrates the flamenco tradition. The festival is held at the end of February and the beginning of March.
We have had nearly a year to plan this trip, which will begin on February 22nd and will end on March 21st. I have been practicing palmas and trying to improve my Spanish. Patricia has been studying food and wine. We have both been listening to lots of flamenco and fado.
Fado is heard in Portugal, primarily in Lisbon. We like Lisbon and we like fado, so we will make a short visit to Portugal as well as visits to Córdoba, Jerez, Seville, and Madrid. We already have lots of music lined up, but we also plan to see some of the area around Jerez and Seville that we haven’t seen before.
